From  2 weeks and 5 days until the day before yesterday (June 1st, 2013)  14 people  joined the http://www.amara.org/en/teams/independentfilm/ team, i.e the team for applying to join the actual subtitling team http://www.amara.org/en/teams/independentfilm-workgroup/: less than one person a day.

Out of them, only two were admitted to the actual subtitling team: Dharma Lee  and teddy fres, i.e. 1 in 7.

Then yesterday (june 2, 2013), there were problems accessing Amara pages: see my Independent Films joining team + 502 Bad Gateway topic on the Amara Help forum. When the site was viewable between these “502 Bad Gateway” messages, it sported a banner inciting people to join the http://www.amara.org/en/teams/independentfilm/ application team.  Between yesterday and today June 3, 2013 at 12:38, i.e. in roughly 24 hours, 42 people joined the application team: over 42 times more per day than in the preceding fortnight.

After the “502 Bad Gateway” glitch stopped, the banner advertising  http://www.amara.org/en/teams/independentfilm/ disappeared, and joining it more or less stopped

Let’s see if yesterday’s applicants to the actual subtitling team will receive more attention than the former ones.

  1. [July 4, 2013 11:32 CET] Almost all the people who joined the amara.org/en/teams/independentfilm applying team have now been added to the actual subtitling team, except alcaffe2 and ernar , who joined the applying team in the last 2 hours.

And today, nuncho sent a message signed “The Amara team” to the members of the Independent Film – Workgroup team, which said: “…If you have any questions, […] check out our forums, or helpdesk: http://goo.gl/1M1DD [short URL for http://support.amara.org/support/solutions/articles/35524-i-need-help-with-amara- ]…” It might mean that the Amara team intends to start again reading, replying and acting upon issues raised in these forums, after its long silence.
